Alice Sternberg Valenstein (American, 1904-2002) was a painter known for her semi-abstract landscapes and interiors done through various medias. Valenstein received the Arthur Wesley Dow Scholarship from Columbia University. She continued her studies at the Vienna Kunst-Akademie, and later with Winold Reiss, Morris Davidson, Manfred Schwartz, Victor Candell, and Leo Manso. Valenstein had one-artist shows/exhibitions at Alonzo Gallery in New York City; Katonah Gallery in Katonah, New York; Miami Museum of Modern Art; Carus Gallery in New York City; and the Krasner Gallery in New York City among others.
